Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a Software Test Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Annapolis Junction, MD.
The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Intelligence Division, within a large, accomplished program of the ESSEX Operating Unit.
Position entails testing through a full system development life cycle including designing, developing and implementing test plans, test cases, and test processes.
Work with developers to integrate software components into a system to meet requirements
Work with developers, system engineers and data characterization teams to produce the following types of tests
o End to end functional tests for validating that a functionality has been successfully integrated
o Operational tests, i.e. test that reflect the operational use of the system
o Performance tests that benchmark the systems stability and performance
Take responsibility for running suite of tests to validate builds for delivery
Diagnose and troubleshoot system to resolve problems uncovered by testing
Detailed documentation of test and results
Develop scripts to incorporate/replace test harness to automate test execution/analysis
Required Skills:
BS Degree and minimum of 9 years of related experience
Strong scripting background in Linux/Unix; Perl a plus - skills needed for development of test
Experience developing/setting up test beds/drivers
Some familiarity with C++ and Java development (i.e. comfortable looking at C++ code or Java source code or xml, etc. to be able to begin diagnosis of problems uncovered during tests)
General understanding of network protocols, SIGINT, (DNI/DNR) processing
Working knowledge of and skills in the use of automated test tools and related CASE applications such as Rational TeamTest, Rational ClearQuest, WinRunner, etc.
Experience working with system engineers to develop operational tests based on operational scenarios
Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required for this position.
Desired Skills:
Experience with Maven, Artifactory, cruisecontrol, continum and subversion desired.
Strong listening, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills essential
Prior Intelligence program experience is helpful
