The AXISS ICES Program is seeking a highly motivated SQL Server Database Administrator to support the project development and software engineering functions within DNI/CIO/Intelligence Community Enterprise Solutions (ICES). The mission of ICES is to provide net-centric information sharing and collaboration capabilities that enable the extended national intelligence enterprise to collaborate in a common shared space. These capabilities focus on delivering web-based services of common concern. These services include content search and discovery, media/file sharing, Intellipedia, web-based email, instant messaging, self service hosting, and access/authentication services for the shared space environment. This position entails serving as a SQL Server Database Administrator for a suite of ICES collaboration tools and services.
The candidate will manage and provide the architecture for all .Net SQL based applications. This position requires strong communication skills (written and verbal) and a strong understanding of MS SQL 2005/2008 Server clustering. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, flexible, and willing to take the initiative on tasks supporting the ODNI CIO ICES.
The primary responsibilities include:
Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high performance and
availability service
Experience with architecting, writing and debugging T-SQL, SSIS and stored procedures
Practical experience in managing internal and external Microsoft SQL Server database security
Strong knowledge of back-up and Disaster Recovery in Multi-Instance implementations and
methodologies
Collaborate with software developers, system administrators, testers, and system integrators to develop technical solutions that will support the overall system
Ensure comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date architecture documentation
Required Qualifications:
Security Clearance: TS/SCI
5+ years of in depth SQL Server Database Administration
Experience managing and architecting multiple 2005/2008 MS SQL Server clusters on enterprise-class
hardware
Strong knowledge of SAN (Storage Area Networking) ie: Connectivity to SQL Server clustering
Must be able to work cooperatively with infrastructure support admin personnel
Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of customers and colleagues
Must have demonstrable experience with database setup and management with SQL Server
Must have demonstrable experience working in a dynamic environment
Must have demonstrable diagnostic and problem solving skills
Must be able to manage time effectively and work on multiple project timelines
Desired Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of SQL Server Database administation/clustering
Experience managing and architecting multiple 2005/2008 MS SQL Server clusters on enterprise-class
hardware
Experience with Geoclustering MS SQL Server
Security Clearance Required.
