Systems Engineer Information Assurance T3\4 – 185498
Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems (near BWI Airport) has an immediate need for experienced Information Assurance Systems Engineers for their growing Systems Security Organization.
We are specifically interested in individuals with Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) and/or Real Time Operating System (RTOS) experience and SCI clearances. Those with CDS experience will support the integration, administration and design of systems that have increasingly become more interconnected. NGES IA Engineering provides solutions for bridging multiple security enclaves and environments.
Individuals with RTOS experience will perform IA Engineering on some of the latest technology to include ground and air sensors.
Candidate will be part of an IA team responsible for security engineering and Certification and Accreditation of Multi-Security Level Systems. Candidate should be familiar with multiple C&A Processes to include: DITSCAP/DIACAP, DoDI 8500.2, and DoDIIS C&A Guide. Familiarity with IATF, DCID 6/3 and JDSCISS is also essential. Strong oral and written communication skills are required as candidate will be drafting documentation and security certification procedures, as well as presenting information to management and customers.
Candidate will perform vulnerability assessments and produce risk mitigation plans. The candidate should be familiar with multiple operating systems to include Solaris, Linux, and Windows. Candidate should be experienced in utilizing STIG and SNAC Guides to provide security. Individual needs to be self-motivated, but able to work as part of a team and should be confident as a presenter with strong public speaking skills. Must have ability to work on multiple simultaneous tasks.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS degree in engineering, software, science, or like discipline
- At least eight years general technical experience
- At least two years experience as IPT, team, or project leader
- Strong systems engineering knowledge of military systems
- Experience with Cross Domain Solutions (CDS), Multilevel Security (MLS)/Multiple Independent Levels of Security (MILS), PL4, PL5, SABI/TSABI, Controlled Interfaces OR embedded/RTOS
- At least three years experience making technical presentations to internal and external customers
- Demonstrably good writing skills; ability to write final-version deliverable technical documents and reports
- Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain higher clearances involving Counter-Intelligence polygraph
- Ability to travel occasionally CONUS and OCONUS
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced degrees in engineering, software, science, or business
- CISSP certification
- Active Secret/SAP/SAR, Top Secret, and/or SCI/SSBI clearances
This position may be filled at the Band 3 or Band 4 level, depending upon the qualifications of the selected individual.

COMMON JOB DESCRIPTION: Designs and implements information assurance and security engineering systems with requirements of business continuity, operations security, cryptography, forensics, regulatory compliance, internal counter-espionage (insider threat detection and mitigation), physical security analysis (including facilities analysis, and security management). Assesses and mitigates system security threats and risks throughout the program life cycle. Validates system security requirements definition and analysis. Establishes system security designs. Implements security designs in hardware, software, data, and procedures. Verifies security requirements; performs system certification and accreditation planning and testing and liaison activities. Supports secure systems operations and maintenance.

Typical Minimum Education / Experience:
9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD.
