Engineer 3 (Mechanical Subsystems) – 188736
This engineering position reports to the HALE Air Vehicle Subsystems and Installations IPT. Location is in San Diego, California (Rancho Bernardo site). Some relocation assistance is available.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Strong background in engineering with a Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years of experience. Broad knowledge and experience with aircraft subsystems, components and/or flight systems analysis. System level understanding of aircraft brake, landing gear and hydraulic subsystem hardware and operation including experience related to aircraft and LRU performance and control. Alternately, similar experience and system level understanding of fuel, bleed air and thermodynamics/ECS subsystems. If not possessing prior mechanical and fluids subsystems experience per the above, has capability to develop this expertise. Ability to obtain Security Clearance Required.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Direct experience and knowledge in the following areas -- system and component sizing, system level schematics, modeling, analysis, detail drawings, writing specifications, statement of works, test procedures and test reports, liaison support to manufacturing, acceptance and flight test, Supplier management, flight test Mission Control Room support, data review, anomaly investigation and resolution and root cause, and corrective action implementation.
