Responsible for workplace health and safety in an aircraft manufacturing facility. Assist with environmental compliance when requested. Recognize, monitor, evaluate, and control employee exposures to chemical, physical, and biological hazards. Conduct safety inspections and audits, exposure assessments, and ergonomic evaluations. Participate in investigations of work related accidents, illnesses, injuries and near misses. Review and approve health and safety corrective action plans. Provide health and safety hazard analysis for new or modified manufacturing operations and facilities. Develop, implement, and execute safety programs to assure they are consistent with company policies, procedures and guidelines and applicable safety, health, and environmental regulations. Devise and coordinate programs which increase and promote safety awareness and practices. Maintain health and safety records and prepare reports for various company, military, local, state and federal agencies. Demonstrated team player with the ability to work without appreciable direction. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, strong problem solving ability, capable of multi-tasking while working complex issues, and have a working knowledge of Cal/OSHA regulations. Basic Qualifications: B.S. degree in safety, occupational or environmental health and safety or industrial hygiene, engineering, or biological science or equivalent, and a minimum of 10 years environmental, health and safety experience for an aerospace facility. Preferred Qualifications: M.S., VPP implementation experience, and/or possess a certification as a Safety Professional (CSP) or an Industrial Hygienist (CIH). Security Clearance Required.
