Lead Engineer UCAS Flight Deck Operations – 182045
Candidate will be assigned to the Logistics Product Support Team in support of the Unmanned Combat Air System Demonstrator. Will be responsible for overseeing deck handling functions required to operate the X-47B at shore based facilities and aboard an aircraft carrier. Candidate required to provide technical solutions to a wide range of logistics and operations challenges. Candidate will coordinate requirements within program and Navy Fleet deck handling teams to refine and validate deck handling operations concepts. The Candidate will manage deck handling hardware and software requirements to integrate the X-47 system into the architecture and operations of the aircraft carrier. Periodic travel will be required. Travel may include short-term assignments aboard deployed aircraft carriers. Primary support site is currently San Diego, CA. Familiarity with basic Microsoft office software tools. Secret clearance required. Basic Requirements: Bachelors degree required with minimum of 15 years direct naval aircraft carrier flight deck operations experience. Preferred Experience: Naval Aviator or Maintenance Officer/NCO with recent flight deck experience. Deck handler or LSO experience highly desirable.
