Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a Database Administrator 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Port Hueneme, CA.

The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's 10-member database team that supports the Navy's Facility Engineering Command (NAVFAC) IT Center (NITC) at Port Hueneme, CA. This team is joined with 20 other hosting professionals supporting over 350 servers at this location. This work is currently in year two of a five year effort.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Oracle DBA with unique experience using Oracle OEM Grid Control for installing, configuring, and maintaining database systems to comply with Department of Defense regulatory and security standards.
* This position requires the candidate to architect and reconfigure the OEM architecture to provide improved operational capability of dozens of database systems.
* This position requires both maintenance of databases as well as upgrading and evolving the database architecture. As such, candidates must have proficient PL/SQL capabilities.
* This position requires a positive relationship with the contractor team as well as the Navy staff. The individual must be able to deal with day to day challenges as well as planning and executing on longer term projects to ensure appropriate availability of database resources and services in the future. Some on call support will be required including some weekends when server maintenance is performed.
* Clear, communicative, knowledgeable, effective, program management level support to include the design, installation and maintenance of Oracle Server databases capable of supporting large, complex, multi-functional organizational structures with thousands of users.
* Performance monitoring should be done using the tools and utilities in OEM including custom built and production reports, and job scheduling.
Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
* A Bachelors degree and 8 years of DBA experience are required. An additional 4 years of experience can be substituted for the Bachelors degree.
* Experienced with Oracle 10g or 11g
* Experienced installing, configuring, monitoring, and tuning using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) with Grid Control.
* Experience should include using OEM utilities such as the Job Scheduler, System Reports, Custom Reports, AWR, ASW, AND ADDM
* Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain common database procedures and policies. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain documentation such as database design documents, DBA checklists, data flow diagrams, business process papers, and associated documentation in support of task order objectives. Demonstrated ability to plan and execute large scale database upgrades.
* An Oracle certification is desired and will be required within 6 months of start
* US citizenship is required
* Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
* Bachelor's Degree preferred
* Security + and Oracle certification desired
* Experience with Oracle RAC, RMAN, and Solaris / UNIX
* Experience with DoD Information Assurance policies
