Mission Success Lead T5 – 180350
SBIRS Mission Success Lead, responsible for assuring all aspects of the Program and philosophy are planned and executed, ensuring product quality and effectiveness throughout the product life cycle from systems design through post delivery support. As a member of the leadership team, this person will provide the SBIRS Program Management Team with an independent, mission-success-focused assessment of Northrop Grumman's products. The scope covers the entire SBIRS program, integrating Payload, SEIT, and Ground. Responsibilities include:
* Identify and mitigate risks that may compromise program and system performance.
* Identify systemic performance issues, propose opportunities for improvement, and drive issues to closure.
* Perform technical reviews of major deliverables prior to delivery to customer. Includes the review of major deviations and waivers, acceptance test results, and all major anomaly conditions.
* Provide independent evaluation of technical gate reviews (SRR, CDR,TRR, etc.).
* Ensure failure review boards (FRB) are effectively deployed with a focus on root cause analysis.
* Assure lessons learned are incorporated into programs prior to gate reviews.
* Investigate failures, including Lead independent reports of root cause and corrective actions.
* Review all CPP, PM Checklists, Process Tailoring Declarations, and Program Directives to ensure that the program planning is contract compliant and efficient, and that risk is being adequately managed.
* Analyze, interpret, trend, and manage improvement of key mission-success metrics.
* Assess LMMS Mission Success Bulletins and GIDEP Alerts for potential risks and/or areas of doubt that could impact Program Mission Success.
* Participate in the Qualification Certification Review Board process as an independent reviewer of approaches and technical validity.
* Manage the Running Sell process and additional duties may be assigned due to business need.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: B.S. in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics required. Minimum 14 years professional experience in aerospace or related industries with experience in Systems Engineering, Operations, Program Management, Integration and Test, and Failure Review. Must have seasoned experience and expertise in leading others, collaborating and influencing across boundaries while remaining independent. Excellent written and verbal communication ability. Technical Requirements: Must have hands-on Engineering and Operations experience. Secret clearance is required, ability and willingness to achieve TS/SCI is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Technical Masters/MBA. Mission Success experience a plus in the areas of Black Boxes, Payloads, Ground Systems and On-Orbit anomaly resolution. Knowledge of the aerospace industry and customer set is preferred. Current TS/SCI Clearance.
