Northrop Grumman TASC is seeking a Engineer 5 - Communications Mission Engineering Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA. The qualified applicant will become a member of TASC's Space Superiority modeling, simulation and analysis (MS&A) team supporting system concept evaluations and performance assessments for the Space Protection and Counter Space mission areas. The MS&A team's results aide the government acquisition decision process by determining the best performing mission architectures.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Candidate will develop MS&A tools and evaluate current systems and future concepts using technical performance measures (TPMs) to identify requirement shortfalls. Typical tasks include designing algorithms and coding/running computer simulations
Candidate will coordinate with the systems engineering team to ensure that system models represent the technical performance and CONOPS for existing and new system concepts.
Candidate will have experience working in a collaborative team environment with analysts having a broad range of expertise
Candidate will document analysis methodologies and present results as required to senior management and customers.
Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
Bachelors in engineering, physics, mathematics, or computer science
Fourteen years experience building computer models for system, mission, or architecture analysis
Previous experience in satellite communication systems with direct experience in at least one facet of overall system design (RF systems/antennas, signal processing, coding, etc.) as well as familiarity with all other communication system aspects.
Experience with analytic modeling and simulation in a Matlab other programming environment.
Strong writing and verbal skills
TS/SCI CLEARANCE REQUIRED
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
MS or PhD in engineering, physics, mathematics, or computer science
Detailed knowledge in one or more of the following areas: orbit dynamics, missile guidance, spacecraft dynamics and control, lasers, electro-optical sensors, and/or radars
Experience with Satellite Tool Kit (STK), Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SQL Server
