Northrop Grumman Information Systems (NGIS) was selected by the U.S. Missile Defense Agency to participate on the Missile Defense National Team. This team was chartered to develop a Ballistic Missile Defense System for the United States. Air & Missile Defense Systems (A&MDS) serves as Northrop Grumman Information Systems' focal point for all activities associated with missile defense, including Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC), simulation & modeling, systems engineering, and target discrimination.
Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Security Engineer on the National Team B program in Colorado Springs, CO.
Position Description - The Security Engineer is responsible for performing assigned security engineering tasks, which include:
Preparation of DIACAP (DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process) packages,
Security architecture development,
Security Plan of Action and Milestone (POA&M) development,
Information Assurance (IA) Knowledge Base Update,
Vulnerability Management System (VMS) update,
System scanning using DISA (Defense Information Systems Agency) vulnerability scanners, and 8500.2 IA control assessment.
Occasional travel between Colorado Springs, Crystal City, and Huntsville is required to support meetings with remote IPT team members.
Basic Qualifications - To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
Bachelors Degree in Science or Engineering with increasingly responsible roles in software/network engineering and the development of Information Assurance solutions.
9 years of experience related to this position.
Active Secret security clearance.
The position requires a strong knowledge of information assurance technology and DoD information assurance certification requirements including hands-on experience in a broad range of information assurance operations related functions and technologies.
The position requires security engineering skills with a working knowledge of DIACAP, information assurance technology DoDI 8500.2, Common Criteria, and National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP).
Must have experience in security architecture design, Security Audit tools, security requirements generation, security testing, administration of security devices such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems, and should have a working knowledge of TCP/IP.
System lifecycle experience performing multiple disciplines (requirements, design, implementation, and test).
Excellent technical document preparation skills and verbal communications are required for presentation of technical information assurance issues and reports to management and military officials. Excellent interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications - Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
DoDI 8570 certification (GSEC, Security+, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP) desired.
Network design and software engineering backgrounds are a plus.
