Senior level engineering position responsible for providing technical oversight of architectures /requirements for electro-optic (EO) systems and Infrared Countermeasures (IRCM) Laser Systems. Primary responsibilities include concept development, requirement analysis, and flow-down functional decomposition; defining, coordinating, and overseeing trade studies and analysis, performing risk assessment, risk migration plans.
Must have knowledge: In the following specialties as related to EO/IR systems: sensor design, solid -state lasers, optics, calibration. /alignment, modeling &simulation, tradeoff analyses and system performance assessments. Create functional block diagrams and describe system concept of operation.
Key Responsibilities: Development of interface control documents, conduct system design trade studies, support design reviews, develop verification plans to demonstrate requirements compliance. Experience with requirements management tools (DOORS) and generation of subsystems and unit specifications is desired.
Must have excellent written and oral communications skills and be able to work in an integrated product team environment. Minimum of 9 years experience with Bachelors in Science or Master Degree with 7+ years of experience. US citizenship and the ability to obtain a government security clearance are required,
Preferred Qualifications: Laser Systems engineer with minimum of 5 years of engineering design experience and minimum of 2 yrs. Of hands on formal systems engineering experience. More than 10 years experience in electro-optics and/or laser design with demonstrated transition to position and test experience. Must have practical lab experience and be able to lead an integration and test program.
Typical Minimum Education / Experience:
9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD.
