The Human Terrain Analysis Subject Matter Expert (SME) is a team member with specialized skills and in-depth knowledge in the HTA discipline. The SME supports design, development, implementation and evaluation of training and education using this specialized expertise; contributes to the execution of project task plans; and assesses the implications of trends, policies and methodologies on future HTA training. Activities are conducted in support of the IC and project team's objectives. The SME works closely with managers, senior specialists and Task Leads.
Specific duties may include:
Establish effective relationships with customers and stakeholders.
Conduct training task analysis, HTA training course design and development, course implementation, and course evaluations.
Work with the training development team to determine the best approach for specific requirements.
Collect and analyze information using appropriate qualitative and quantitative techniques.
Interpret results and report the results and conclusions in both graphical and/or narrative form; brief and make recommendations as to optimal solution to meet the identified need(s)
May have occasional supervisory responsibilities.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICIATIONS

Bachelors degree in geography/sociology or field relatable to Human Terrain
Individual must be a U.S. citizen and hold a current TS/SCI (i.e., has a current SBI) level security clearance. Final authority for approval to brief rests with the customer.
Minimum of 5 years professional experience including the following:
o Human Terrain application experience 'in military operations.'
o Experience working with NGA (experience with other intel organizations Will be considered)
o Experience as an educator/trainer/instructor; knowledge of the Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methodology a plus
o Experience as a technical staff member who works well with people
Maintains professional currency (through work experience, seminars, conferences, journals, HTA programs).
Serve as a top level technical expert, possibly working on multiple projects.
Ability to initiate, develop and sustain productive working relationships with NGA and NSG customers, training coordinators, and requirements managers.
Qualified to conduct some HTA research; has knowledge of HTA data systems.
Effective in interpersonal relations, and written / oral communications skills.
Good analytical skills (both quantitative and qualitative) a plus.
Able to organize data and interpret, brief results, and provide recommendations to program leadership.
Ability to use common business software, particularly the MS Office Suite.
Ability to work independently, be a proactive problem solver, establish priorities, and meet deadlines.
