Roles and Responsibilities:
The Hardware Engineer is responsible for assessing the potential risks/threats to a subsystem of an existing Supervisory Control and Data Acquisitions (SCADA) system. The Hardware Engineer must be able to develop and document system security architecture for the subsystem to defend against threats and minimize the potential risks. In additional, they must be able to design and implement information assurance and security engineering systems with requirements of business continuity, operations security, cryptography, forensics, regulatory compliance, internal counter-espionage (insider threat detection and mitigation), physical security analysis (including facilities analysis, and security management). Assessing and mitigating system security threats and risks throughout the program life cycle along with validating system security requirements definition and analysis is a key aspect to the opportunity. Full life cycle system security experience including establishing system security designs, implementing security designs in hardware, software, data, and procedures, verifying security requirements and performing system certification and accreditation planning and testing and liaison activities. Lastly, the chosen individual would support secure systems operations and maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required Skills:
* Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or similar technical major plus five years systems security engineering experience; or a Masters degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or similar technical major with emphasis on systems security engineering experience plus three years of systems security engineering experience.
* At least three years experience practicing information assurance and computer network defense (CND
* At least one year experience with a certification and accreditation process such as DoD Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process (DITSCAP) or Department of Defense (DoD) Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP)
* At least one year experience with formal policy and procedures for securing and protecting information systems such as Director of Central Intelligence Directive (DCID) 6/3, Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 503, or NIST Special Publications 800-30/37/39
* Demonstrated experience developing system security engineering architecture papers including providing analysis of the security posture of existing systems and proposing comprehensive security architecture.
Desired Skills:
* Represents the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects.
* Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
* Guides the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role.
Position requires a current TS/SCI w/ Full Scope Polygraph Clearance.
