Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a Systems Administrator Level 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. This position will be located in Herndon and Chantilly, VA.
Transforming the future of technology depends upon a highly diversified, fast-paced team. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Media Analysis Team.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Maintains smooth operation of multi-user, multi-vendor environment
Sets up user, administrator and service accounts, maintains system documentation, tunes system performance, installs system wide software and allocates mass storage space
Interacts with users and provides desktop support
Installation, configuration, administration, troubleshooting and maintenance of servers, workstations, and associated peripheral equipment
Schedules, documents and oversees data backups
Installs, configures and manages network connectivity devices (i.e. switches and hubs) and ensures reliable connectivity for attached devices
Research and provide updates to multiple computers on different platforms designed specifically for program activities
Evaluates vendor products and provides recommendations to management
Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources
Maintains Cisco VPN
Responsible for the C&A process for program software
Responsible for designing and implementing all program information security controls
Additionally responsible for various office logistical functions, such as inventory etc.
Available 24/7 to respond to network outages and failures
Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
Bachelors degree
5 years IC experience
Hold an active Information Security Certification such as GSEC or CISSP
Experience in maintaining Cisco networking equipment
Experience in maintaining Windows servers, Windows Desktops and Linux servers as well as Microsoft products
Experience with Customer Information Security regulations, policies and procedures
Experience with communications security equipment
Experience with customer C&A policies and procedures
Experience with IT support for enterprise software development
Experience supporting multiple user requests at the same time.

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
Experience in Active Directory, Exchange and LDAP
Experience with OS X and Open Directory.
Experience in Java
Systems administration related certifications
Position prefers a candidate with a CCNA, CCNP or CCIE Certification
Experience in maintaining and installing open-source and commercial web applications
Experience with Final Cut Server
Have a multimedia background with some exposure to Protools, Final Cut Pro, Light Wave, 3d Studio Max, Adobe CS3-4.
Applicant must have strong interpersonal skills, and be able to effectively communicate technical concepts to others. Applicant will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship required.
