OVERVIEW:
Mid-Level position to provide SES support to Headquarters/Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, and 20 AF located at FE Warren Air Force Base, Wyoming.
JOB DUTIES:
Perform engineering analyses and studies to assist AFGSC and 20 AF in performance management of the operational ICBM force. Will evaluate shortfalls and develop corrective solutions, identify risks and support studies of hardware and software in support of AFGSC ICBM weapon system. Provide assistance to AFGSC in its oversight role of the ICBM Nuclear Enterprise. Provide support during interaction with organizations within the Air Force and also those outside the Air Force, such as but not limited to, joint commands, DoD and DoE agencies. Perform studies and analyses to provide operational guidance to evaluate the progress/results of ICBM development and sustainment program activities.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
* Understanding of AF Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution
* Modernization and requirements definition
* Testing and evaluation of new systems
* Interfacing with High-level AF and DoD personnel
* Strong missile maintenance and logistics background
Applicant must possess a DOD Secret security clearance and a bachelor's degree in engineering or logistics related field. Experience can be traded for a degree. Position currently located at Barksdale, LA, supporting Air Force Global Strike Command. Travel is required.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
* Ability to work independently without supervision
* Experience in working AF MAJCOM, Unified Command and Numbered Air Force
Excellent written and verbal (speaking/presentation) skills strongly preferred.
