Welder Pipe – 189043
Responsible for performing pipe welding procedures on Stainless Steel and Copper-Nickel pipe using the TIG welding process.
Basic Qualification:
Requires basic reading, math and writing skills . Must be familiar with the operations and adjustments of welding machines in the performance of Shielded Metal Arc Weld (SMAW) and Tungsten Arc Weld (TIG) processes. Must be capable of operating a scaling gun and grinder. Must pass a fillet weld assessment in the positions of Vertical and Overhead both single and multiple passes for both Stainless and Steel; able to utilize a weld fillet gage; capable of the visual inspection of welds to determine compliance with workmanship standards; familiar with the use of a Flow Meter. Capable of performing basic hooking and rigging procedures; must pass a BC (manual steel fillet) and CJ (manual stainless steel) certification weld assessment both written and procedurally; capable of Arc Gouging; capable of welding water tight collars and performing pickup repairs and basic weld wraps and familiar with footage rates and weld bead sizes. Must be able to pass a pipe certification (1N3301ST and 1N4301ST for thin wall procedure or B-GTAW for open root procedure in the 6GR position).
Preferred Experience: Capable of mirror welding; knowledge of purging pipe and pipe fit up requirements; capable of welding X-Ray pipe. 3-5 years experience MULTIPLE POSITIONS.
