Information Assurance/Security Engineer
Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking an Information Assurance/Security Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Lanham, MD.
Where Technology and Teamwork come together to design, integrate, certify, and accredit a worldwide mission critical system. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Information Assurance/Security Engineering team in support of certification and accreditation efforts for an on-going state-of-the art secure global system.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Support the software development team, system engineers, and maintenance staff in determining security issues and impacts.
* Develop and maintain: System Security Plans (SSPs), Security Concept of Operations (CONOPS), and other security documentation for compliance with security features and enhancements.
* Support Certification & Accreditation (C&A) activities and develop C&A artifacts.
* Provide recommendations resulting from system vulnerability scan reports and hardening guide documentation.
* Create and execute security tests.
* Ensure that the IS is operated and used in accordance with security policies and the SSP.
* Conduct Computer Security Briefings for new employees using the IS.
* Enforce security policies and safeguards on all personnel having access to the IS.
* Conduct security audits and ensure that the audit records are archived for
future reference.
Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
* BS in a technical discipline plus 5 years Information Assurance/Security Engineering experience
* Must have working knowledge of DCID 6/3, ICD 503, and NSSI 1253.
* Must have the ability to author, update, and peer review SSPs, Security Requirements Traceability Matrix (SRTM), Trusted Facility Manual (TFM), and Certification & Accreditation processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
* 2 years ISSO experience
* 1 year experience in secure technologies including; identification & authentication, authorization and access controls, integrity and trusted computing, secure backup and recovery, secure communications, and auditing.
* 1 year experience with OS hardening guides (STIGs and SNACs).
* 1 year experience with Macintosh, Solaris, and Windows Operating Systems (OS).
* Ability to multi-task and possess good writing skills.
Final Grade determination based upon qualifications of selected candidate.
