Primary role is to lead and manage a Manufacturing Engineering group serving as points of contact for all technical issues related to manufacturing/assembly of a product or family of related products. This is a hands-on position requiring direct experience with the manufacturing aspects of space-grade products in Manufacturing Engineering in the areas of Circuit Card Assembly (CCA), Cable and Harness, and electro-mechanical assembly and integration.
Duties included design manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling. Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. Generate detailed manufacturing and assembly instructions, incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Direct experience with automated assembly equipment required.
Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques. Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations. Continuously evaluate processes and equipment for performance and improvement opportunities. Identify, develop and qualify new and improved processes.
Duties include, but are not limited to: direct technical floor-support; preparing NRE & all related manufacturing process plans for existing as well as new product designs; compiling and leading production readiness reviews; developing process documentation and work instructions; analysis of process yield data to determine root cause and corrective actions; developing, recommending and implementing process and producibility enhancements, product quality improvements and cost reductions. Candidate will work closely with Design Engineering, Quality, Production/Material Control, IPT Lead, Manufacturing Supervision and hourly Production Personnel. Additional duties may be assigned commensurate with performance or due to business need.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Typical Minimum Education / Experience: 15 years directly related experience, 9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; Bachelor of Science in Engineering discipline. Blackbelt/Greenbelt desirable
Must be familiar with Cleanroom operation and protocol. Must be a highly-motivated, self-starter with excellent organizational and communication skills. Strong computer skills with working knowledge of MS Office and MS Projects are required. Must be able to obtain security clearance.
