Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Columbia, MD.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The Senior Systems Engineer for Human Factors and Usability Engineering ('Senior Usability Engineer') will conduct user / human-centered design for software applications and web sites including contextual inquiry, critical task analysis, information architecture, interaction design, rapid prototyping, user interface functional requirements specification, usability testing, and application of human-computer interaction (HCI) research for DoD customers. In addition, the Senior Usability Engineer will assist in institutionalization of usability for customers via the acquisitions process, identification and adaptation of human factors and usability standards and best practices, contributing portfolio examples of work to an internal web site, applied research and metrics, and otherwise documenting artifacts of user-centered design in a usable and useful way.

Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

Must have at least a Masters degree in Computer Science, Industrial or Software Engineering OR in the Social / Behavioral Sciences such as Psychology. Multidisciplinary Masters Degrees or doctoral specialties such as human-computer interaction (HCI), human-system interface / integration (HSI) or human factors engineering are appropriate as well.
(14) years experience in planning, designing, and analyzing processing and storage retrieval systems on mid to large scale integration programs.
Must have practiced user-centered design for software user interfaces and be able to show or describe this work.
Must have background in applied research and statistics particularly with respect to web / software analytics and metrics relevant to end users.
Must have professional communications, consulting, interpersonal and team skills.
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment where multiple projects are being developed and deployed simultaneously.
Must be able to work well within a team environment.
Must be able to adapt quickly to change.
Position requires a current TS/SCI w/ Full Scope Polygraph Clearance.
