Roles and Responsibilities:
Designs, tests, and implements state-of-the-art secure operating systems, networks, and database products. Conducts risk assessment and provides recommendations for application design. Involved in a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access. Uses encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies, and information technology security research. May prepare security reports to regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities of the ISSO include ensuring systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with internal security policies and practices outlined in the security plan. Ensuring that all users have the requisite security clearances, authorization, and need-to know, and are aware of their security responsibilities before granting access to the IS. Ensuring configuration management (CM) for security-relevant IS software, hardware, and firmware is maintained and documented. Ensuring all IS security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals. Ensuring that system security requirements are addressed during all phases of the system life cycle. Maintain records, outlining required patches/system upgrades that have been accomplished throughout the IS's life cycle. Records should be maintained for workstations, servers, routers, firewalls, intelligent hubs, network
switches, telephony equipment, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
(5) years related experience.
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment where multiple projects are being developed and deployed simultaneously.
Must be able to work well within a team environment.
Must be able to adapt quickly to change.
Position requires a current TS/SCI w/ Full Scope Polygraph Clearance.
