Senior Hardware Engineer


Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
Where Technology and Teamwork come together in high-level support for our Customer. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Systems/Hardware Engineering group in Lanham, MD.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Support Site and Field Service personnel in the resolution of hardware suite related issues.
* Support Systems Engineering in hardware requirements development and verification testing.
* Research end-of-life COTS hardware replacement options and perform Kepner-Tregoe (KT) based market surveys.
* Prototype, perform bench and integration testing, prepare Test Reports, prepare Installation/Integration and Operational documentation for proposed hardware solutions.
* Research and propose new hardware solutions based on current and future technologies.
* Provide risk and impact assessment to changes in hardware configurations.

Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
* BSEE or BSCS or BS in Technical Discipline + 14 years hardware engineering experience
* 5 years experience with APPLE and SUN hardware.
* Familiar with LAN/WAN technologies.
* Must possess excellent verbal and writing skills.
* Must be skilled with basic hand tools and rack-level assembly techniques.
* Must have experience with basic electronics test equipment (DMM, Oscilloscope, Cable Testers etc.)
* Must be proficient with MS Office and Visio drawing applications.
* Experience with Audio, Video and Teleconferencing products/techniques is desirable.
* Some travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
* Minimum 5 years Audio, Video and teleconferencing equipment experience.
* Minimum 10 years hardware testing and systems-level troubleshooting experience.
* Minimum 3 years experience working in a CMMI or ISO process based environment.
Final Grade determination based upon qualifications of selected candidate.
