Network Engineer
Professional Experience:
Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a Network Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Lanham, MD.
Where Technology and Teamwork come together to upgrade the network of a worldwide mission critical system. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Network Engineering team in an on-going effort to design and transition to a state-of-the-art high speed network.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The Network Engineer will be responsible for:
* Performing system level analysis, preparing technical designs and solutions, network setup and troubleshooting and debugging.
* Providing LAN/WAN setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
* Conducting site surveys and preparing network installation plans.
* Providing in-house network setup (Cisco routers and switches), design, and troubleshooting.
Experience:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
* BS in a technical discipline; CCNA
* Two years of LAN/WAN Network Engineering experience installing, maintaining, configuring, and troubleshooting network equipment including Cisco routers and switches
* Two years of Network Engineering experience with network protocols including TCP/IP, EIGRP, UDP, DHCP, SMTP, and FTP
* Two years of experience designing, configuration, and testing prototype network configurations prior to installation.
* Two years of experience troubleshooting and resolving network anomalies on an operational network.
* Two years of experience with MSOffice applications.
* Some travel will be required.
Final Grade determination based upon qualifications of selected candidate.
