Network Engineer
Professional Experience:
Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Columbia, MD.

Roles and Responsibilities: The Senior Network Engineer will contribute to the development, delivery and deployment of a mission enabling Simulator system that provides the operator with a virtual live training environment. Significant network engineering tasks include: contributing to the Simulator development activities leading to system IOC; supporting new feature development and roll-out; providing LAN/WAN configuration and interconnectivity; performing periodic system refresh; participating in technical exchange meetings (TEMs); contributing to the system requirements derivation; developing, reviewing and analyzing Interface Control Documents (ICDs); performing trade studies; interfacing with CM process ; developing and reviewing system documentation; participating with planning, task estimation and resource management. Reports to the technical lead.
Experience:
* Bachelors degree within a technical field plus a minimum of nine (9) years within Network Engineering or a Masters degree within a technical field plus a minimum of nine (9) years within Network Engineering.
* Professional Certifications highly desired (e.g. Cisco, Juniper, VMware, Microsoft, Linux)
* Candidate must have an in-depth knowledge of TCP/IP and network fundamentals (e.g. OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VLANs, DNS, DHCP)
* Candidate must have experience with installing, maintaining, configuring, and troubleshooting network equipment (e.g. Cisco Routers, Switches and Firewalls, IBM/Dell/Sun Blade Servers, Sun/Dell Storage)
* Candidate must be proficient in programming and/or scripting skills (e.g. PERL, BASH, KSH)
* Candidate must have experience installing, administering and trouble-shooting Windows, UNIX (Solaris) and Linux environments
* Candidate must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and be proficient with Microsoft Office products to include Visio
* Candidate must be a self-starter, team player, be flexible, and possess the ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to a fast-paced work environment.
Final Grade determination based upon qualifications of selected candidate.
