Senior Systems Engineer
Professional Experience:
Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Columbia, MD.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The Senior Systems Engineer shall spearhead system engineer development in the following areas: technical and resource planning, agile systems development, requirement analysis/derivation/tracking, system security, design, integration, verification and validation, identifying/managing risks, procurement, and recruiting. The Senior Systems Engineer provides oversight for all the systems engineering for our Customer. Significant tasks include: applying agile development methodologies to systems development; defining/deriving/tracking customer-driven requirements to include: operational, system, technical and security (DCID 6/3) requirements; host frequent customer technical exchange meetings (TEMs); develop, review and analyze Interface Control Documents (ICDs); perform trade studies; interface with CM process lifecycle, version control, and development of configuration baselines; lead new feature rollout and testing; develop and review system documentation; participate with planning, task estimation and resource management report to technical lead.
Experience:
Masters degree within a technical field plus a minimum of twelve (12) years within System Engineering
Professional certifications highly preferred (e.g. INCOSE).
Candidate must have a broad understanding of systems engineering processes, principles, and techniques.
Candidate must be a self-starter, team player, be flexible, and possess the ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to a fast-paced work environment.
Candidate must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and be proficient with Microsoft Office products and requirements tracking tools.
Final Grade determination based upon qualifications of selected candidate.
