Software Engineer
Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a Software Engineer to join a team of dynamic and highly talented engineering, management, and support personnel responsible for providing state-of-the-art technology insertion, hardware and software upgrades, and full life-cycle support to a strategically important worldwide system. The selected individual will join the software engineering team as a Software Engineer on a large government program with a staff of more than 120 technical professionals from Northrop Grumman and numerous teammates. This position will be located in Landover, MD.

Roles and Responsibilities:
* Designs, develops, tests and debugs database and application software and systems
* Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; utility programs, and operating systems
* Perform corrective, adaptive, and software maintenance on the software baseline
* Prepare and maintain software documentation
* Provide day-to-day software support to integration and test, and field support activities
* Ensures software standards are met
* Administer Sybase relational databases, optimizing database performance, redesigning database structures and/or loading/reloading data into the database, and developing relational database software using SQL.
Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
* BS in technical discipline, and two years of technical experience
* Minimum of two years administrating Sybase relational databases

Additional Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
* Bachelors or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or Math
* Programming experience in C/C++, Objective C, shell, or Java
* Experience with application development for Apple OSX platform
* Experience with Solaris UNIX systems
* Experience with database replication
* Experience with web applications and document management systems
Final Grade determination based upon qualifications of selected candidate.
