The CyberWorX Principal Investigator reports to the Cyber Operating Unit Director and is responsible for developing cutting edge technical solutions for cybersecurity, information assurance, information operations and analysis related to national security topics such as sensor management, intrusion detection & analysis, systems and vulnerabilities, network security, advanced analytic tools, situational awareness and data visualization techniques. The successful applicant must be able to conduct and supervise CyberWorX assignments, review progress, and evaluate results while also providing direct mentoring and support to peers and junior staff in their technical growth. The successful applicant must have a proven track record of working with customers independently or in teams to develop requirements, write white papers and conduct research. Demonstration of positive and interactive customer interfaces coupled with strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Critical job functions include: In collaboration with colleagues, identify critical cyber security challenges and provide innovative solutions to leading-edge R&D and conduct applied research on cyber security related commercial and defense R&D contracts; assistance with customer interaction to demonstrate and deliver research results through written reports, briefings and participation in program reviews. Travel (less than 10% time) is anticipated. Candidates must have a proven track record of research accomplishments, excellent communications skills, fiscal management experience, and a strong desire to work in a team environment. Program, organization, and/or contract management experience is preferred while a background in national security related issues is a plus. Additional desirable qualifications include: substantial experience in information assurance, intrusion detection, vulnerability analysis and research and development of cutting edge solutions to a broad range of security problems; strong experience in CNO; Strong knowledge/experience in network security protocols and techniques; modern software development experience a plus; excellent interpersonal and communication (presentation & writing) skills. Candidate must have a Ph.D. in computer science, computer engineering, physics, or related discipline AND/OR equivalent years of work experience. Candidate must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance, but it would be an asset to have an active Top Secret/SCI clearance Security Clearance Required.
