SharePoint Operations Support Administrator – 188830
Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a Systems Administrator 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Patuxent River, MD.

Where Technology and Teamwork come together... The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Advanced Public Services Business Unit supporting the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Information Technology/Information Management Department under a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract providing a wide array of IT products and services.

The SharePoint Operations Support Administrator will be responsible for the administration and maintenance of the Enterprise SharePoint environment. Further duties include assisting with system design, and maintaining server farm availability, reliability, and stability. In addition, the administrator will install and deploy SharePoint services, perform system upgrades and patching, make recommendations for system improvements, and ensure the integrity of the SharePoint data in accordance with policy and industry best practices.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Installing, configuring, and managing the Windows Server operating systems and related tool sets supporting the Data Center.
Apply service packs and cumulative updates to all SharePoint farms.
Ensure appropriate auditing, quotas and usage information and search settings are consistently maintained throughout the organization.
Provide hardware and infrastructure SharePoint support.
Track and optimize system performance, security and storage utilization and perform capacity planning for necessary hardware or software upgrades to support the environment.
Building new infrastructure servers.
Ensure datacenter compliancy per policies to include backup and disaster recovery requirements, anti-virus protection, and implementing security server lockdown
Managing and monitoring all SharePoint Farms, including virtual machines that run on VMWare ESX Server 4.0
Producing documentation that details and describes the systems, procedures, events, and any associated processes.
Reviewing all system logs, including operating system event logs, SharePoint logs, supplying fixes, and adjusting scopes to eliminate errors.
Requires oOccasional nights and weekends as well as on-call rotating schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

High school diploma.
10 years of related experience.
Complete understanding of SharePoint architecture, as well as extensive experience in system integration, performance monitoring, and securing and managing a SharePoint environment.
Experience with Windows 2003/2008 Server to include the build, maintenance, and troubleshooting, as well as addressing service requests, routine sever maintenance (firmware, failures, hardening, etc.), and server consolidation.
Experience with Active Directory.
Ability to work independently and on a virtual team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledgeable of hardware and software troubleshooting methods.
Knowledgeable of networking encompassing DNS and IP addressing.
Extensive experience administering enterprise-scale MOSS deployments.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET.
US Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or related technical field .
7 years of related experience.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, preferably SQL 2005/2008.
Microsoft SharePoint Certification.
CompTIA Security + certification.
Active SECRET clearance.
