Procurement Quality Engineer – 187443
The occupant of this position is required to plan and implement Quality Assurance actions for assigned suppliers for RF/Microwave and Electrical assembly devices which require compliance to Military and Space requirements. Will be required to perform complete inspection on a variety of purchased or manufactured raw materials, hardware, electrical components, major electro-mechanical assemblies and manufacturing processes and evaluate completed sub-assemblies to determine if drawing / specification requirements are met. Determine the cause of defects or malfunctions. Will initiate Corrective Action Plans and work with suppliers and manufacturing personnel to identify root cause.
This position is posted as a dual salary band 03/04. The candidate's experience and qualifications will determine the appropriate salary band.
Qualifications
A Bachelors degree in a technical arena coupled with 5-7 years experience in the Military industry is required (or 3 years of experience with a Masters in a technical arena). Candidate must have experience initiating Corrective Action Plans and working with suppliers and manufacturing personnel to identify root cause. Candidate must have experience in ISO 9001 and Mil-Perf-38534 Standards. Experience with Microsoft Office programs and SAP is required. Ability to work with minimum supervision and present a professional company image to the customer is essential. Minimum of an active Secret security clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters Degree is preferred. Training in Six Sigma, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ASME Y14.5M), IPC J-STD-001 and NDT methods highly desirable.
