Support our T-6A contract customer in support of training aircraft acquisition programs for the Flight Training Program Office at WPAFB, Ohio. Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients. Needs a complete understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the operations research field. General knowledge of other related acquisition disciplines. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, and practicable, and consistent with organization objectives. Work under only general direction. Experience and/or in-depth knowledge of government acquisition and sustainment processes required. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. Some customer-related travel required.
Minimum of 15 years performing operations research or maintenance type activities in the military acquisition or support environmnet is required. Strong communication skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office software, including MS Project is essential. Competency in operations research to include conducting analytical investigations and developing analysis methods and techniques. Responsible for data collection, estimating relationships, development of models, and analysis. Experience in aircraft weapon system strategy, acquisition and sustainment to include life cycle management processes from conceptual phase through System Development and Demonstration (SDD), Production (Low Rate Initial Production and Full Rate Production) is an important plus. Responsible for the technical validity of studies. Advises acquisition logistics personnel of the results and implications of studies for which responsible, particularly in relation to advances in scientific knowledge and techniques in fields applicable to integrated logistics support (ILS) management techniques. Knowledgeable or proficient with government contracting processes. Candidate must have extensive knowledge of life cycle of aircraft systems. System Program Office logistics experience highly desired. At least three (3) years experience must be in aeronautical weapon systems acquisition logistics analysis or aeronautical weapon systems support of logistics analysis.
