Communications Engineer 3 – 188652
Communications Engineer responsible for supporting the design of future communication systems as well as upgrades to existing systems including hardware, software, and user applications. The candidate will be required to understand and interpret customer and operational needs for the Global Hawk Air Vehicle and Ground Segment communications systems and equipment. The candidate's efforts will result in system or line replaceable unit (LRU) level designs that are portable and that follow open system architecture, net-centric, and reconfigurable trends for military systems. This position will offer the selected engineer an opportunity to make crucial design decisions and analyze alternative impacts to the Global Hawk System and program integration into future military operations. Position duties include architecture development, proposal preparation, communications studies, subcontractor support, and anomaly investigations. Travel may be required up to 25% of the time. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline or equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years experience in RF, analog, digital design, system integration and test, special functional test equipment design, test setup creation, software defect test support, X/Ku/UHF/VHF communication systems, link budgets and analysis, and/or voice communications. PREFERRED QUALIFATIONS: A Masters degree in Electrical Engineering . Relocation Assistance Available. Security Clearance Required.
