A Current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required to be considered for this position.
The preferred candidate will have experience in systems engineering, operation, and maintenance. Successful performance of this position will require developing an end-to-end awareness of system components and data flows, as well as operational environment concerns and priorities. The ability to understand and communicate system operational, functional, and architectural concepts to users, customers, developers, and management is extremely important. The candidate should also be organized and able to manage a challenging schedule in an often rapidly-changing environment.
Required Skills and Functions
Serve as the primary engineer and POC for coordinating sustainment engineering for a complex production system.
Develop and manage plans for small to medium size engineering initiatives
Coordinate between system operation and development teams to
Identify and resolve system anomalies and deficiencies
Participate in system development planning and advocate for prioritization of operational needs
Coordinate deployment of system changes that include fixes and upgrades with major stakeholders

Educational prerequisite
BS in Engineering, Information Technology, or Computer Science required with a minimum of 14+ years of relevant experience, 12 years with Masters; 9 years with PhD; 18 years in lieu of a degree. Degrees in alternative fields may be considered if a candidate possesses unique and relevant operational experience.
Preferred Skills
Experience in planning and coordination of engineering activities in an operational environment. Experience with development or management of system requirements and architectures. Knowledge of software development and system integration processes. Familiar with development/definition of system baselines, problem tracking, and product sets. Experience with project schedule development and maintenance. Familiar with Microsoft Project or similar tools. Familiarity with UNIX/LINUX file structures and command line usage a plus.
