Northrop Grumman Information Systems (NGIS), Defense Systems Division (DSD has an opportunity for a Database Administrator. The Database Administrator will securely maintain the current database server configurations and initiate and coordinate move requests for database servers equipment within four hours of request, and reinstall database servers one day after equipment is moved to a new location. Will maintain accurate documentation and all system diagrams as part of this task area. Perform backups for all database servers so that in the event a server crashes or data becomes corrupted, it can be recovered from tape utilizing applications such as Veritas NetBackup. The Database Administrator will ensure that data loss is limited to no more than 24 hours or since the last backup process was run on the server, whichever is shorter. Monitor, identify, and resolve all backup failures daily and notify the government task monitor of any potential for increased risk due to a failed backup. Candidate will perform and maintain current disaster recovery images of all database servers. Will perform data restorations in the event of data corruption, deletion, or server failure. Responsible for understanding critical business applications and stakeholders, and be able to install, remove, and maintain databases with minimal operational impact.
Basic Qualifications include:
DoD Top Secret security clearance.
BS degree with 4 - 6 years relevant experience. Four years relevant experience may be a substitute for the degree.
Expert level knowledge and ability in maintaining databases.
Certified in the computing environment (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Cisco Certified Network Engineer (CCNE), Oracle Database Administrator, etc., as appropriate) within 6 months
Security Clearance Required.
