Northrop Grumman Technical Services sector is seeking an Operations Research Analyst 5 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in the Pentagon. The qualified applicant will perform studies, analyses, and assessments of programs, processes, doctrines, policies and strategies which provide the customer with guidance, advice, and recommendations to support implementation and revision of the Defense Strategy. Specifically, the applicant will provide combat modeling expertise with the Joint Integrated Campaign Model (JICM). The core requirement for the JICM modeler/analyst is to perform ground campaign analyses emulating the employment of U.S. Army and Marine forces (Blue), Coalition ground forces (Green), and enemy ground forces (Red). This will include upfront development of model scenarios, to include development of force structure options and alternatives, population of the model's input data requirements emulating operational forces' capabilities and alternative employment concepts of operation, running the model, followed by comprehensive analysis of the output data to provide analytical insights to the study lead and director.
Roles and Responsibilities: * Member of a team providing support for DoD analytic requirements to include studies and war games. * Apply mastery level skill in advanced analytical, mathematical, or statistical techniques related to statistical analysis, computer modeling and simulation. * Perform studies, analysis, and assessments as outlined above. * Conduct out-of-cycle reviews of COCOMs' OPLANs/CONPLANs to support OSD Contingency Planning Guidance. * Provide an objective assessment and course of action recommendations of draft plans. * Review courses of action presented by the Services, Service component commands, DoD agencies, and military organizations to assess adequacy of resource and force generation plans toward achieving DoD's goals. * Support drafting of operations annexes. * Provide expert deliberate planning in support of the Joint Planning Process.
Minimum Qualifications: To be considered for this position, applicants must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below: * Bachelors Degree * 14 years work experience of joint technical program experience or related professional experience (or 8 years with a Masters Degree in Operations Research) * Position requires a current TS clearance with eligibility for SCI access; i.e., SSBI/PR must be current within the last 5 years.
Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration: * Experience serving on the Joint Staff or other staff particularly in the JS-J8, Combatant Commands, and other DoD customers.
