Part Time Technical Editor\Writer – 188826
We are seeking a part-time (20 hours per week) Technical Editor/Writer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in Washington, DC and includes benefits for this part-time opportunity.
Find balance with a part-time opportunity The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Team supporting the Department of Justice Criminal Division.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Update and maintain existing user manuals for Oracle-based systems to reflect enhancements and new procedures
* Develop new manuals by interviewing subject matter experts to determine the work procedures associated with the IT systems and work with the developers for the IT aspects of the systems
* Develop and deliver training including group classroom training and one-on-one desk side training
* Prepare computer based training and web surveys
* Administer accounts for Westlaw and Lexis legal research services
* Process new and departing users
Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
* Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of professional experience
* 2 years of experience developing and editing IT documentation such as user manuals
* Expert knowledge of MS Word
* Ability to research and document work processes and to understand unique job roles and duties in order to provide customized training
* Excellent communication skills
* Must be able to obtain a Position of Trust designation
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

Strongly prefer a candidate with a current Position of Trust designation or security clearance based on an investigation performed within the last five years
Experience performing classroom and desk side training
Experience with Oracle-based systems
Familiarity with legal terminology and processes
Knowledge of and experience with Instructional Design methodology
Experience using Captivate or similar system to develop computer based training
Web Content management and web-based survey experience

Security Clearance Required.
